Federal Government
Brazilian Entrepreneurial Program - aimed at the strengthening of micro and small-sized companies as well as for entrepreneurs in the informal economic sector, through the managemental qualification and technical assessorship. One of the key objectives of the program is to contribute for the income generation, employment maintenance and creation, etc.
BNB - Bank of the Northeast
The main credit programs offered by BN are:
AGRIN (Program for the Development of Agriculturally-Based Industries): the program has as its purpose to facilitate the creation, expansion, modernization and relocation of agriculturally-based industrial plants making it possible for them to open up new employment opportunities and bring economic progress to rural areas in Northeast.
INDUSTRIAL (Industrial Credit): clients are private industrial enterprises of any size, provided they are under the control of Brazilians. Cooperatives and associations are eligible for credit. The program provides long-term loans for the creation, expansion, modernization and relocation of industrial plants.
PMPE (Program for Micro and Small Enterprises): urban-based micro and small private-sector enterprises under the control of Brazilians are eligible as recipients of long-term loans for the creation, expansion, modernization and relocation of plants. Funds are available for fixed (building, machines, etc) and working capital.
PRODETEC (Program Stimulus to the Technological Development): the program's objectives are to accelerate the technological development of the region with emphasis on the promotion of efficiency and competitiveness of rural and industrial enterprises. The clients are private-sector enterprises, rural producer and its associations and cooperatives.
Program of Support to the Technological and Managerial Improvement of Northeastern Company: northeastern companies are eligible. The focus of the program is placed upon the managerial improvement of companies, especially by application of methods of total quality.
Competitive Northeast: the program finances the industry, commerce, provision of services, tourism and infrastructure. The clients are Brazilian private industrial enterprises, under the control of Brazilians, aiming at the implantation, expansion, modernization and relocation of these companies.
BNDES/BN
Joint action between Bank of the Northeast (BN) and
BNDES,
whose focus is the attendance of micro, small and medium-sized companies, that
have important role in the Bahian economy and difficulties of access to credits
for financial agents. It offers many credit lines, with competitive taxes,
operational agility, adequate financial products, endorsement of the National
Treasure in the composition of guarantees, etc.

Desenbahia offers, among its products, many credit programs and financing lines for micro and small entrepreneurs.
FINEP - Studies and Projects Funding Body
The purpose of
FINEP, a government-owned agency under the Ministry of Science and Technology, is to promote technological development and innovation in Brazil. Its role is to foster support to companies and institutions/universities investing in new products and processes, continuously striving for technological innovation and leadership. Among the main operational instruments used by Finep are the following:
- Support for Technological Development of a National Company (ADTEN): an instrument whereby Finep finances or invests in development projects or projects for the enhancement of technologies of products and processes, executed either by a technical team from the companies themselves, or by national engineering companies and consultancies, universities and research institutions in general.
- Support for Users of Consulting Services (AUSC): grants resources to public or private entities for hiring consulting companies to develop its projects in social and economical sectors.
- Support for National Consulting (ACN): collaborates financially with national consulting companies, favoring the progressive nationalization of the sector.
CEAPE - Centers of Support for Small Businesses
With units in Feira de Santana, Juazeiro, São Gonçalo do Campo, Alagoinhas and Salvador, the
CEAPE offers credit and support to small businesses: credit for working capital (acquisition of raw material, goods and supply) and credit for fixed assets (machine and equipment purchase and installation improvements).

- Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service
Program of Technological Support for Micro and Small Companies: its objective is to promote the improvement of processes and products of micro and small companies through services offered by technological institutions, for the quality and productivity improvement and development of new technologies and innovation, aiming at to increase its competitiveness.
