The State of Bahia, located in the extreme southern of the Northeast
region, has a total area of 567.295,03 sq. km. It is the fifth-largest
State in the country in territorial extension and corresponds to 36.3%
of the total area of Brazil’s Northeast region. The State is composed of
417 municipalities.

Strategically situated between the South and the North regions, the
State of Bahia has easy access to the main Brazilian producing centers
and consuming markets.
