The life quality in Bahia manifests itself in different aspects. Its localization and climate propitiate excellent conditions for those who live there. The capital Salvador, for example, has a subtropical climate, with an annual average temperature of 25°C.

The State offers many options of leisure: many kinds of sports, natural beauties, ecological reserves, museums, churches, historical monuments, besides parties, shows and events along the year.

In general, Bahia's life cost is quite inferior to the Southeastern and South States of the country. In Salvador, for example, the cost of residential rents can be 20-30% lower. In the hinterland of the State, this difference can still be bigger. Another good example is the cost of the basic food supply. In June 2005 the price of the basic food supply in the Bahian capital was R$ 136.95, the lowest price in the country.
