Brazil plans its development on the basis of the study of integration and development zones, uniting vocations and potentialities and tracing a complete map for internal and external investments, either in the industry, in the agroindustry, in the tourism or in other segments, having always as goal the sustainable development. Actually, these zones are express ways of development that traverse Brazil, join regions and transcend frontiers, reaching common markets throughout the world.

Brazil has the largest Mercosur's GDP. Its inflationary index has decreased and the annual averages of its per capita GDP have progressively increased. This Brazilian economical perspective is inspired in the globalization process - the State supports the sustained growth, with the private initiative help, fortifying itself to act in priority areas, such as health, education and security.

Inserted in this context, Bahia has made efforts in developing a project of Sustained Regional Development, on the basis of its modernization, on the basis of its productive structure and in its relationship with the external market. By maintaining the financial balance of its public accounts, the State ensures solid credibility along with the Federal Government and international financial institutions, allowing the increase in the resource captation and preparing the State to receive new investments in the private sector.

Besides, Bahia offers incentives, increasing its competitiveness in the national and international economies. The foreign trade is today an excellent option for the Bahian production flow, and Bahia is successfully inserted in the international market.
